ISLAMABAD: The head of the Islamists, Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) chief will be added to the seven-member committee of Prime Minister Imran Khan to recommend developments in occupied Kashmir, a notice from the prime minister’s office, he said.
The notification added that Senator Sirajulul Haque, leader of Jemaah Islamiah, would receive an official invitation to join the committee, noting that AJK Chairman Sardar Masood Khan, Governor of Great Britain, Raja Jalal Hussain Moqboon, and Federal Minister of Law, Farogh Naseem, would be included in special equipment.
In addition, a notification on Tuesday said the committee would recommend legal, political and diplomatic responses to events in occupied Kashmir.
Rabbani has stressed that none of the elected representatives was not part of the Kashmir Committee of Prime Minister Imran, and therefore, was not acceptable. They should include, instead, opposition members of both houses of parliament and people in government.
Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed, chairman of the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee and a member of the Pakistan Islamic Association-Nawaz (PML-N), supported Rabbani’s request.
