Hello and welcome to the21daydiet.org health and fitness blog! There are so many different diets on the market, it’s hard to know which one is going to deliver you the best results. I’m sure you’ve heard about 3 day, 5 day, 7 day, and even 10 day diets. Where do you even BEGIN in selecting one that is going to be right for you and actually deliver results?
Well, the funny thing is, people search even as low as a “1 day diet”. Because we are looking for a fast quick solution. But I want you to ask yourself, how long did it take you to gain weight? I’m guessing you didn’t gain that excess 10 or 30 pounds in 1 day. So why do you think it will only take you a day to lose weight? If you want RESULTS and serious long-term weight loss, you can’t expect to lose tons of weight in a short amount of time. These are all short-term fad diets. You might lose 10 pounds in 3 days but that is likely all water weight and will be gained back quickly once you revert back to your normal eating habits (i.e., not starving yourself and actually eating carbohydrates). If you want to seriously lose weight, you need to re-think “short term success” and focus on a long term strategy.
That is why I love the idea of a 21 day diet. I believe that it takes over a week to start a new habit and two weeks to break a bad habit. After three weeks, you have dedicated enough time to establish a new healthy routine. It also gives your body time to adjust to a new diet and lifestyle. Cravings will be kicked after the first few weeks and you begin to adapt to a new healthy eating as your new “norm”. You will KEEP the weight off if you commit to the diet for this long and people will notice.
No one is going to say “Hey, you’ve lost weight!” after you’ve eaten only grapefruit and celery sticks for three days. People won’t notice if you only lose 5 pounds. If you put in consistent effort and follow the steps precisely in these diets we are going to teach you about and review for you, you WILL lose weight. This isn’t some fancy gimmick or “promise you the world” weight loss pill. This is about calories in and calories out. This is the science behind weight loss.
